All NQ avocado growers, orchard managers and their teams are invited to attend the North Qld Avocado Grower Regional Forum for 2026. This annual regional forum is your chance to hear and discuss the latest avocado industry and R&D news, and best practice insights. The agenda has been designed in consultation with industry so the topics will be relevant to your region and suit your orchards’ conditions and needs.

Please also note that this event is specifically designed to support avocado growers, and we warmly encourage all growers, their orchard managers, and teams to attend. In response to grower feedback and to ensure growers remain the majority of attendees, organisations that do not represent avocado grower businesses may register up to two representatives per organisation. Avocado grower businesses, including growers and their employees, are welcome to register multiple representatives, with no limit on numbers.

Now in its fourth year, the Avocado Industry Benchmarking project (AV22004) delivered by RMCG, is providing growers with financial and production insights to support decision-making and track performance. Drawing on data from across the region, Lauren Jones from RMCG will present key findings from the 2025 Benchmarking Report, including comparisons of yields, sales, costs, and EBIT across growing zones, along with insights into industry trends and top-performing growers.

In the avocado industry, achieving yield and quality that leads to profitability can transform your life, business, and family. But navigating nutrition is a complex challenge, as it’s neither static or easily repeatable. Growers often notice when their trees struggle and require nutrients but may feel uncertain about how to respond to get the right results. Liz Singh from AgriHort Solutions will guide you with decisions to move forward with a nutrition plan this season.

Dr Geoff Dickinson (DPI) will present current Growing Robust Avocados (AV21005) research on pre-harvest mineral nutrition and its effects on postharvest fruit quality, with a focus on the critical role of calcium loading in enhancing robustness. Geoff’s presentation will also offer practical guidance on optimising calcium delivery before fruit set, covering rate, form, timing, and placement to achieve measurable improvements in quality.
