Avocados Australia hosts China Inbound Study Tour

From 31 May to 7 June, Avocados Australia and industry hosted a China Inbound Study Tour for key Chinese stakeholders. The tour delegation comprises representatives from the Shanghai Huizhan Fruit Market, China Chamber of Commerce Fruit Department, China Import-Export Quarantine & Inspection Association and several fruit importers.

As part of the tour the delegation visited several avocado farms and packing sheds in Bundaberg and Far North Queensland. They visited the Brisbane Wholesale Fruit Market, supermarkets, and the Cairns International Airport Regional Trade Distribution Centre. At the centre, local Mayor, Amy Eden, greeted and hosted the delegates to discuss what future supply chain opportunities could look like direct from Cairns International Airport to China.

The delegates also attended our annual forum event, Avo Connections. Key delegates addressed the Avo Connections audience and took part in a panel discussion. It was an excellent opportunity for delegates to connect with exporters and marketers. We were delighted to host Mr. YANG Chenqi, Deputy-Consul General of China, Brisbane Jurisdiction, and several members from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF).
