CNSW growers come together for Regional Forum

Around 50 Central NSW Growers and other avocado industry stakeholders came together on Thursday 3 July for the CNSW Avocado Grower Regional Forum held at Stuarts Point. An orchard walk took place in the afternoon at Malcolm and Narelle Heather’s orchard. Our sincere thanks go to them both for hosting the orchardwalk. This event covered yield variability and growers impacted by recent severe weather sourced information and assistance.

In the morning they heard from Isabella Ellmers and Renata Grunennvaldt, members of the National Avocado Extension team, Ian Tolson, Avocados Australia’s CNSW Director, John Tyas, Avocados Australia’s CEO & other key expert speakers covering topics of relevance to growers in the region.

The Central NSW Avocado Grower Regional Forum was supported by Avocados Australia and delivered by Applied Horticultural Research as the regional lead, in collaboration with the Queensland Department of Primary Industries (DPI) as part of the Hort Innovation funded Avocado industry development and extension project (AV23010).

The Avocado industry development and extension project (AV23010) has been funded by Hort Innovation, using the avocado research and development levy, co-investment from the Department of Primary Industries Queensland, Western Australian Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, New South Wales Department of Primary Industries, and contributions from the Australian Government. Hort Innovation is a grower-owned, not-for-profit research and development corporation for Australia’s horticulture industry.

Copies of the presentations will be made available from the BPR.
