First-ever Australian Avocados Culinary Showcase in Dubai

On 25 November Avocados Australia hosted our first-ever Australian Avocados Culinary Showcase in Dubai, at the International Centre for Culinary Arts.

It brought together leading chefs, foodservice professionals, importers, retailers and industry partners for a day of technical learning, live demonstrations and meaningful connections.

We were honoured to welcome Her Excellency Bryony Hilless, Australian Consul-General in Dubai, along with visiting Austrade delegates, whose support helped strengthen the program.

A major highlight was the chef demonstrations and cook-off led by 3 outstanding culinary talents: Chef Soul AbouZhar, Chef Jack Jarrot, and Chef Shefali Saxena.

The dishes showcased the versatility, flavour and year-round reliability of Australian avocados across a range of cuisines.

Avocados Australia also acknowledges the strong support from our exporters who travelled to the UAE to represent the industry: Sam Manujith – The Avolution | Wayne Robinson – The Avocado Collective | Troy Agosti – ÉVO HASS

Sincere thanks go to Austrade, Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, the Government of Western Australia, and Trade and Investment Queensland for championing Australia’s agrifood capability across the Middle East.

Through expert-led sessions on handling, ripening, quality and innovative menu applications, this showcase marks an important step in expanding Australia’s presence in the region’s fast-growing foodservice sector.

Thanks also go to all participants, chefs and partners for contributing to such a successful inaugural showcase.

Together we are building new opportunities for Australian Avocados across the Middle East.

Australian Avocados & Urban Coffee Roastery Collaboration a success

During November, a clever collaboration between Australian Avocados and Urban Coffee Roastery (UCR) in Hong Kong resulted in a seriously delicious avocado-themed menu that inspired customers and helped us celebrate the natural richness of Australian Avocados. It provided our customers in Hong Kong, one of our major overseas markets, with an easy way to enjoy Australian Avocados in a variety of ways.

UCR customers experienced the Avocado Lovers’ Dream Menu. It was available at all UCR branches across Hong Kong and featured: Avocado Crab Sourdough Toast, Avocado Smoked Salmon Tartare, and Avocado Smoothie (Airport branch only).

Our sincere thanks go to the amazing UCR team for bringing this collaboration to life!
