Trade Showcase aims to place Hort Industry in the Spotlight
This week Avocados Australia’s “North Queensland Avocado Industry & Hort SHOW DAYS” is providing NQ growers, their families and staff, with the chance to meet, network and fact find on a whole range of products and services to add value to their businesses. It is more than a trade showcase as there are food vans, live entertainment and many prize giveaways being offered over the two days – 9 to 10 October – at The Pack Centre in Tolga.
Avocados Australia would like to sincerely thank our supporting partners and trade exhibitors for helping to make this event possible. Our thanks go to Opal, Propak Industries, J-tech Systems and Sinclair, WFI Insurance, Agrichem, Tomra and Freshcare. Equipment exhibitors included NQ Agricultural Services, Quinto Ag Machinery, Honeycombe, Casali’s, DTE Equipment, Brown & Hurley, Croplands, Russo & Vella Machinery and AgDrone.Au.
A huge range of trade and machinery products and services are on display today and attendees could hear from industry suppliers and find out more about Avocados Australia’s export program at the NQ Export Regional Forum. Avocados Australia’s NQ Avocado Export Regional Forum had four sessions integrated into the event program where the crowd could hear from expert speakers about exporting, emerging global trends and how this can impact on stronger farm gate returns.
The gold coin entry fee for this event will be donated to Remote Animal Assistance.
NQ avocado grower and Avocados Australia’s Chair, Matt Kleyn, hosted the event at his packing centre.
“This event aims to offer a fun and enjoyable way to catch-up with others in the hort industry,” said Matt Kleyn.
John Tyas, Avocados Australia’s CEO, made a presentation about ‘How Export Can Deliver Stronger Farm Gate Returns’ for growers on Day 1.
“This was the first time Avocados Australia held an event of this kind in North Queensland. It was great to see hort industry stakeholders actively engaging with Avocados Australia staff, directors and with our partners and trade exhibitors.”
