Impacted by recent severe QLD weather? Report it!

The Queensland Department of Primary Industries (QDPI) recently confirmed with Avocados Australia that any Queensland primary producers impacted by severe weather events in October or during the first weekend in November should complete the Queensland Government’s Application for an Individual Disaster Stricken Property (IDSP) Declaration form (DOWNLOAD IT HERE) and QDPI’s Agriculture Disaster Impact Survey HERE.

If the submissions are successful – by going through the IDSP process – it can raise awareness of the weather event within QDPI and importantly help initiate disaster assistance such as loans from the Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA).

Reporting the impact severe weather events have on your orchards and operations should be the first thing you do if you require assistance with recovery. Include photographic evidence when it is requested and keep thorough records of any expenses incurred as part of your clean-up and recovery.
