SHIFt – New investment planning system progresses

Avocados Australian and Hort Innovation are updating their strategic plans. They commenced industry consultation with avocado growers recently in Far North Queensland, with CQ consultation happening next week. Plans are underway to schedule grower consultation across all growing regions over the next five months. We encourage all growers to participate in these consultation sessions to help shape the future direction of the industry and the levy investment program.

Hort Innovation is building a new investment planning system to replace the current Strategic Investment Plans by June 2026. Through the Strategic Horticulture Investment Framework (SHIFt) program, more than 400 growers and stakeholders have helped shape a simpler, more flexible and transparent investment framework with feedback being captured in a consultation report. The new system will feature a dynamic digital format and will be designed to reflect grower needs and support cross-industry opportunities. Hort Innovation is now working with industry to develop the key priorities and content of the new investment plans.
