All South QLD (SQ) avocado growers, orchard managers and their teams are invited to attend the SQ Canopy Management Practical Workshop happening on Wednesday, 20 August 2025 from 9.00am until 12.30pm at Sunnyspot Farm in Ravensbourne. Morning tea and lunch will be provided. There are limited spaces so secure your place TODAY!
What you can expect:
The session will kick off with a short presentation unpacking the fundamentals of avocado tree physiology and the principles of effective canopy management. We’ll explore key questions such as: How does canopy structure influence productivity, fruit quality and orchard efficiency? And what practical strategies can growers use to manage their canopies?
We’ll then move into the orchard for a hands-on session, looking at different canopy management techniques and how they perform in the field.
This workshop is designed to support growers in planning and refining canopy strategies. It’s a chance to ask questions, compare approaches and share ideas in an informal, grower-focused setting – guided by the technical and practical expertise of Chris Searle.
