Chip joined the Avocados Australia Board in 2023. He and his partner Jo both come from farming backgrounds and have owned Halo Farm in Hampton since 2004. Jo and Chip met in the Australian Army and after 37 years Chip decided to retire in 2021. They planted their first avocado trees in 2017/2018 and predominantly grow Hass avocados. “We are passionate about selling the health benefits of avocados across the entire population; from the maternity ward all the way through to the nursing home. We are also passionate about the health of the farm on which we grow the avocados, ensuring we are responsible custodians of the land and the water assets,” said Chip. Chip is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has a Bachelor of Management degree from Southern Cross University.
