Infocado

What is Infocado?

Infocado provides the Australian avocado industry with valuable insights into avocado volumes dispatched and forecasted. This data helps the industry maintain a consistent supply of avocados throughout the year, optimizing fruit quality at the retail level and supporting a more stable market. Additionally, it aids in planning industry marketing activities throughout the year.

Contributing data is straightforward. If you have been set up in our system and received the activation email, please follow the instructions provided here. If you need further assistance, please contact Avocados Australia’s data analyst on 07 3846 6566 for an in-person walkthrough.

As a program participant, we require you to keep your seasonal forecasts updated throughout the year as new information becomes available. During your season, you will also need to submit your weekly dispatch and weekly forecast volumes. In return, you will receive both weekly and quarterly reports:

Weekly Infocado Report

Produced every Tuesday, this report aggregates data from packers and NZ exporters. It details the volumes dispatched in the past week by variety, pack type, and fruit size, and forecasts volumes for the following four weeks, by variety and region. It also includes a weekly dispatch vs. forecast comparison and non-participant volume estimation. For each region, the report tracks dispatch progress throughout the season against forecasted volumes.

Quarterly Infocado Report

Released in January, April, July, and October, this report compiles data from packers and NZ exporters. It provides dispatch and forecast volumes for the past and upcoming 12 months, by region and variety (Hass, Shepard, and Other), as well as the average retail price and export volume per month.

These reports are part of the strategic levy investment project Avocado Industry Supply and Trade Data Capture and Analysis (AV22016), funded by the Hort Innovation Avocado fund using the avocado industry levy and contributions from the Australian Government. Hort Innovation is the grower-owned, not-for-profit research and development corporation for Australian Horticulture.
