Avocado Integrated Pest Management workshop (Zoom)

Do you need a primer on integrated pest management (IPM)? Keen to learn from the comfort of your office (or home)? Due to ongoing COVID-19 travel restrictions, the pest management workshops planned as part of Review and extension of avocado pests and their management (AV19001) will now be held via Zoom.

The pest management workshops will run for 1.5 hours and are aimed at growers and agronomists interested in IPM. By the end of the workshop, you will have a one-page IPM strategy developed collaboratively with your fellow participants, which means that it is tailored to the specific issues of the growers involved and will cover biological, cultural and chemical control options.

The project team is aware that fruitspotting bug is a major obstacle for implementing IPM in some regions, so in the relevant workshops they will work with participants to identify ways to improve pest management using the tools and knowledge that is currently available. In the future there will hopefully be more control options but until then the aim is to make the best use of what is accessible now. The workshops will also provide valuable feedback for the direction of future research.

Five workshops will be held on the following Mondays at 1pm AEST: 6 and 20 September, 4 and 18 October, and 1 November.

To register for a workshop please email Jessica at jessica@ipmtechnologies.com.au.
